Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
When attempting to save a document with a particular table of contents as a Word .doc file, the application immediately crashes and prompts to recover upon restarting the application.
It should be noted that the file was originally a Word .doc file which was imported to .odt format upon opening. The crash did not occur until saving back out to a .doc format file.
It is believed that the issue is caused by the table of contents in the file. In the original file, when the table of contents was removed, the crash did not occur. The provided file is an empty table of contents (all other elements from the original file were removed) in which the crash still occurs.
This is happening in OpenOffice 3.2 ooo-build 3.2.0.10, Debian 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4.1
Bernie Bernstein, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. I could not reproduce this problem in Ubuntu 10.10 LibreOffice Writer at the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ openoffice. org/+bug/ 682839/ +attachment/ 1749119/ +files/ badtoc. odt && localc -nologo badtoc.odt
Click File -> Save As -> File type triangle -> Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP doc -> Save button
Does this work for you?
