Hi folks,

I know what causes this. Hicham: try installing the vlc package and see if it fixes the issue. Unfortunately the vlc window doesn't integrate in without the entire package being installed.

Thanks Bilal, installing the vlc package makes it run as expected.

But isn't there some way to embed the vlc window without having the vlc package installed ?

Firstly, thanks Bilal, the VLC engine used to fail if VLC was not installed. Obviously something's changed in a more recent release of VLC.

Hi Hicham, sorry, I have spoken to upstream about this issue a while ago and they tell me that under linux you need to install VLC for it to work properly. I have no control over this. I guess that it's possible to create a "bug" for this but I would guess that someone has already and there is some technical reason why it can't be done.
