Bug Description

Binary package hint: file-roller

file roller "tiedostokäärin" starts when I try to open one 1TB size drive. First time it says though that authorisation for mounting and I type the password. Then the drive is accessible via a shortcut on the desktop. But if I now try to open it again via "sijainnit" it opens this file-roller program. This occurred after trying to install NX with file-roller I think.

Could you please check if you can open any bookmark from the Places menu? (Videos, Pictures, Home, etc). Thanks.

Hi,

Home and Desktop tries to open file-roller. Computer (Tietokone) works
and there-from I can access this drive. All other bookmarks works except
Home and Desktop and this drive. Network "Verkko" and Connect to server
"Yhdistä palvelimeen" Find Files, Last opened " Viimeisimmät
asiakirjat" works OK.

Thank you for your bug report. It seems you associated folders with file-roller (e.g. by right-clicking a folder and chosing "Open with"), unfortunately the "Remember this setting" option is activated by default (bug #662194).
To fix the issue, try:
1. Press Alt+F2 and enter "nautilus" to start the file manager
2. Right click on any folder and chose "Open with Other Application…"
3. Chose "File Browser"

Does this work for you?
