Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

every time i log in the empathy contact windows opens on my desktop. Its REALLY annoying. I have tried closing down the window and then logging off again buit the window still opens up again on login.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu.
DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.10
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.
2.32.1

This should be an easy thing to fix ... its a really dump behavior to code into the appp

thanks for your bug report. have you added empathy to your system's startup applications list? could you use 'empathy -h' instead of 'empathy' this option is meant to start empathy window hidden in the background. pleas let us know if that solves the problem.

I do apologise ... I had swine flue and was not logged in for 4 weeks. Basically, the problem for what ever reason suddenly stopped occurring. I install updates daily, and after it stopped appearing on login I tried without success to recreate the problem, but I have been unsuccessful.

I assure you this was re creatable at the time otherwise I would not have logged it and wasted your valuable time.

If I did not get the flue we could have tracked this down.

I think that we will have to close this bug down.
