Bug Description

Using Edgy daily 20061024 on both AMD64 and PowerPC. A Compaq R3000z and a 12" iBook G4.

After a successful installation the install system shutdown and ejected the CD and displayed the text "Please remove the disc and close the tray (if any) and press ENTER to continue". I did as it asked, but the system did not reboot. Switching consoles does not help and none of the consoles even echoed characters. Pressing the power button did not do anything. I needed to hold power button to power down the systems.

The symptoms were exactly the same on both AMD64 and PowerPC.
