Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx - released in April 2010
nautilus:
Installed: 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1.1
Candidate: 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1.1
Version table:

Right-click on file or folder icon within a Nautilus window.
Select "Properties"
Select "Emblems" tab in dialog box.
Click check-box for emblem required.
Tick momentarily appears in the box and then immediately disappears.
The emblem does not appear on the file or folder icon in the Nautilus window.
This happens for all folders and emblems I have tried.
Emblems show OK in another user's workspace on the same computer.
It appears that in my area, when I try to set an emblem, some other agent is immediately cancelling it.
What do I have to set to re-enable emblems?
This situation occurred after I uninstalled Ubuntu One. I had trouble with Ubuntu One. It arbitrarily changed the names of many of the folders and files in my home directory. Consequently, other programs could no longer find their working files. I had to reinstall all my work files from a backup. I therefore had to discontinue using Ubuntu One.
