A configuration option from an old guide to getting effects to work seems to help on my 945, that being Option "Tiling" "False"

This bug is not actionable as it stands. I don't reproduce this problem and no one else has reported similar behavior in the few months since it was reported so guessing it's either something peculiar to kwin or a configurational issue.

Fwiw, for performance bug reports you should provide measurements such as framerate measurements from a game (NOT glxgears; glxgears performance bug reports are not accepted). The general debugging process for such issues when they are regressions from older versions is to identify the most recent version where it worked properly, too.

nowardev, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-intel REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
