Bug Description

Binary package hint: munin

pid_file definition in munin-node.conf is ignored. It always uses /var/run/munin/munin-node.pid.

Running munin 1.4.4-1ubuntu1 in lucid.

Hello Jon, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help us make Ubuntu better!

It would appear this bug was fixed upstream in v1.4.6, which has not been released yet.

We can go ahead and backport the patch, which is relatively small, from here:

http://munin-monitoring.org/changeset/3929

Marking as Triaged, as its already clear how to resolve the issue and has already been reported upstream.

Setting Importance to Low, as most people will not want to run multiple munin-nodes, and upstart makes it unnecessary to use the pid file for daemon management.

Nominating for Lucid as well.

status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Low
