Bug Description

In /etc/default/libvirt-bin:
!# Defaults for libvirt-bin initscript (/etc/init.d/libvirt-bin)
!# This is a POSIX shell fragment
!
!# Start libvirtd to handle qemu/kvm:
!start_libvirtd="yes"
!
!# options passed to libvirtd, add "-l" to listen on tcp
!libvirtd_opts="-l -d"
!
!# pass in location of kerberos keytab
!export KRB5_KTNAME=/etc/libvirt/krb5.keytab

after restarting with "service libvirt-bin restart"
!# ps axfu | grep libvirt
!root 2494 0.2 0.0 221484 5480 ? Sl 15:58 0:00 /usr/sbin/libvirtd -d

In tune libvirtd will not list on any TCP-Socket and remain not being accessible over the network.
AFAIK configurations given in "/etc/default/libvirt-bin" are ignored. Whereever the "-d" comes from --- it is not "/etc/defaults/libvirt-bin"!

Configuration intentionally ignored. Moved to /etc/init/libvirt-bin.conf

No updates to documentation done! References to "/etc/default/libvirt-bin" should be removed!

Hi Thomas, thanks for pointing this out. Which documentation are you referring to? I suspect we'll have to reclassify what this bug affects according to your answer.

I refered to the Ubuntu Administration Handbook accessible via internet. libvirt-bin docs in ubuntu-wiki. Both point to /etc/default/libvirt-bin for configuration of libvirtd.

An other point: why does /etc/default/libvirt-bin belong to the package? Should not be there any more since it isn't used!
!tu@kvm-test:~$ dpkg -L libvirt-bin | grep /etc/default
!/etc/default
!/etc/default/libvirt-bin
