Bug Description

Binary package hint: cups

Samba's sharing my folders without problems except the printers. I have 1 shared network printer and 1 local printer attached via USB, an HP OfficeJet J3608 All-in-One.

I've tried googling for answers but the solutions I've stumbled upon doesn't seem to work. I've also tried configuring the .conf files to no avail. Attached are the screenshot of my shared printer and the folder which should also show the shared printers.

Uncomment (remove the ";" in the beginning) the two lines

; printing = cups
; printcap name = cups

in smb.conf. Then restart Samba and printers should get shared. Please tell whether it works for you.

Still doesn't show the printers, already restarted both cups and samba. Also rebooted just to be sure but still no go.

Do your printers work locally? Are they listed by

lpstat -v

Are your printers set as "shared"? You can do this with system-config-printer. Right-click the printer icon and choose "Shared" in the pop-up menu so that it gets a check mark.

yes it does, both the local and shared (from XP) printers works well. I just can't share them. And both are listed on lpstat. Both printers are also set as shared.

What bothers me though, after doing Google and LP search, is that I think I'm the only one affected by this bug (on Lucid).
