Contact menu item does nothing when clicked

When I open a group chat window, the menu bar has a "Contact" item which does nothing. It's easy to ignore but it adds cognitive noise - it should either not display or be disabled.

are you using indicator-appmenu(global menu)? there is a bug in appmenu-gtk where clicking on contact shows nothing. or are you referring to something like when you are in group chat no item of contact menu is enabled?

I was referring to the second scenario: in a group chat where the chat window's menu bar includes an item labeled "contact" which does nothing when you click on it. This would be entirely consistent with it being a menu with no items.
