Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Hi guys!

I have a Fujitsu E8460 Laptop infront of me with an Nvidia graphics card.
If I try to switch to an attached beamer by pressing Fn+F10 I do get a picture on the beamer except it is completely blown out of proportion.
Apparently I do have a 1360x768 resolution in a 640x480 pane, meaning that i have to scroll the picture arround in this pane.
Within nvidia-settings in the menu item "x-server display configuration" I can set the resolution for the external monitor to 480x320 or 640x480 or auto or off. that is it. And in "Panning" I can put whatever I want...

Also the driver does not recognize the externeal device at all, as it is being called "CRT0", it is a Panasonic PT-LB55NTE Beamer.
I guess this is why I don't get to see any other resolutions?

How can I circumvent this? For example by setting the values' range manually?

We would be very grateful if you could look into this as soon as possible as we are talking about a productive device here that is being required urgently!

Thanks in advance and your's,
Firebug

Hi guys!

I can meanwhile reproduce this with a MSI GT640, so this is not a special case but seems to occur more often!

According to my colleague this used to work UNTIL 10.4!
So this seems to be a genuine step BACKWARDS...

Now they want me to install WINDOWSon those devices, so can anybody please take notice?
As it worked already it cannot be too hard a fix, right?
Thanks and your's
