Bug Description

Binary package hint: autofs5

Description: Ubuntu 10.10
autofs: Installed: 5.0.5-0ubuntu21

When using autofs5 to mount a directory exported as nfs4 from localhost, autofs5 attempts to perform a --bind mount, like it would with nfs2 or nfs3. This does not work with nfs4, as nfs4 exports from its own "root".

For example, I have autofs setup to serve out home directories, all of which are located in /export/home/$user . The fsid=0 directory is /export . This means that in the auto.home, the path to the user's directory is listed as /home/$user.

Given this, there is not enough information in the auto.home for autofs to do a --bind mount for the local directory, and as such, an nfs4 mount should be performed instead.
