Bug Description

Binary package hint: uboot-mkimage

uboot-mkimage source package contains a stripped version of the u-boot source package and both packages have the same functionality. Please remove uboot-mkimage from the archive. More details in the Debian bug #602778 [1] and #603373 [2].

Currently at Natty jasper explicitly depends at this package, and as a side effect we can't generate ARM images anymore.

I'm ok for removing this package from the archive, as long as we first provide the same binary by changing the u-boot package and then everyone that depends on it (or creating a dummy package as a transition).

mumble... it would have been nice to wait a while with this removal until teh new binary is approved into main, now all armel builds are completely broken which is very unfortunate right before a sprint where we need the images to work. please check the impact of such an action more carefully in the future.

I appologize for the inconvience. I forgot to check the reverse dependencies and didn't notice that uboot-mkimage was in main. I will be more carefully the next time I request a package removal.
