Bug Description
The issue that I'm having is that I cannot change the visual effects when I'm in extended monitor mode. I've tried reinstalling maverick about 3 times now (first 2 I installed desktop edition.... and now I have installed netbook edition, but I login with desktop edition (hoping it would have solved something). Whenever I try to switch the effects (system -> preference -> appearance -> Visual Effects) to 'Normal', it either A. searches for drivers, asks for me to keep the settings, refreshes the windows, yet does not display the effects, and reverts the option back to 'none' when I go back into the settings. or B. pops up with the error "Desktop effects could not be enabled". Effects work fine when I run only one monitor. Its only in extended mode when this occurs. I've searched everywhere and have not found any solutions with maverick... and all the bug threads (usually from ubuntu 8.x versions) with a similar issue are showing as fixed when updating the xserver-
