Bug Description

I uninstalled Rhythmbox from my system in favor of banshee. I have tried every possible option to remove the grayed out (with a question mark in the center) rhythmbox icon from Docky but to no avail. I also tried purging docky and re-installing, tried editing config files but couldn't find anything relevant.

Distro in use: Ubuntu 10.04.1 32-bit

The ENTIRE output from running docky in the terminal with the -d (or --debug) flag:
[Info 19:21:13.956] Docky version: 2.0.6 Release
[Info 19:21:13.962] Kernel version: 2.6.32.25
[Info 19:21:13.963] CLR version: 2.0.50727.1433
[Debug 19:21:14.208] [UserArgs] BufferTime = 0
[Debug 19:21:14.208] [UserArgs] MaxSize = 2147483647
[Debug 19:21:14.209] [UserArgs] NetbookMode = False
[Debug 19:21:14.209] [UserArgs] NoPollCursor = False

So you try dragging the icon off the dock and it does nothing?

Also are you sure that is your entire output? That log is missing .. pretty much everything. It looks almost like your docky isn't even loaded, let alone running!

Oops, it did work. Never thought, it could be this simple.

Thanks Robert for help.

However, I would like to point out that although it seems intuitive, there should have been some other way to do it too. I have been using Docky for only 3-4 days now.

Yeah, I missed the last line of the debug info, my mistake:
[Error 04:25:06.996] Another Docky instance was detected - exiting.

For future reference, 'docky -d' log output is only useful if Docky was not already running. ;-)

Yeah, now it seems obvious to me. Thanks for pointing out anyway.
