I'm using these t-bird packages:
ii thunderbird 3.0.10+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 mail/news client with RSS and integrated spa
ii thunderbird-gnome-support 3.0.10+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 Support for Gnome in Mozilla Thunderbird

Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04

Doesn't seem to cause any user-visible problems.

It seems to have effect, according to my check, seems to be related to the problem of JUNK email not being moved to the junk folder automatically, despite all correct settings are in place.

By the way, this will be fixed when we update Lucid to Thunderbird 3.1.x
