Bug Description

Binary package hint: gcompris

No sound effects with gcompris, but the music does play in the background when at the home screens/folders. I have the gcompris-sound-en package and ' local="en" ' in my gcompris.conf. Any ideas what I need to do to get the sound effects working ..ie the melodies for the sound games. I'm using ALSA since pulse would use 100% of my CPU.

This is on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 using the 9.0-0ubuntu7 pre-built packages shown bellow. Also Other sound applications (VLC, YouTube flash, SMPlayer etc work fine.

ii gcompris 9.0-0ubuntu7 Educational games for small children
ii gcompris-data 9.0-0ubuntu7 Data files for GCompris
ii gcompris-sound-en 9.0-0ubuntu7 English sound files for GCompris
