gnome is loading on top of the 2d netbook launcher

Bug Description
When I boot in to the 2d netbook desktop, Gnome loads on top of the 2d launcher making the computer unusable. The icons are also very large. This happened on a mini 10v running UNE, I was able to replicate this issue on a mini 9 running ubuntu desktop edition by installing the necessary components. I have attached a screenshot of what is happening.
