This is almost certainly a support issue, not a bug, so converting this into a question.

I have a recent oncelot ubuntu 11.10 and the most recent release of bzr. I'm getting the same permission denied (public key) error as many other users. So far i haven't found a solution that works for me.

Canonical oversees ubuntu, bzr and launchpad, so it really ought to work seamlessly AT LEAST for the this combination.
So why is it a support issue and not a bug?

Hi Kesten,

spiv marked this as a support issue because it is possible to register and use an ssh key, and we don't know of any actual functional bugs doing that, the user just needed help doing it.

However, the user experience for doing it is not as easy as it could be, and for that we have <https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/297398>.

Please open a new question at <https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+addquestion> and we'll help you. I see you do have an SSH key on your account - is that the same one as in ~/.ssh/*pub on your local machine?
