Cannot use most packaging branches for daily builds

Bug Description
It would be great to be able to very quickly try mushing an upstream branch against the official Ubuntu branch. Sadly, most Ubuntu branches do not share history with most upstream branches, so the current recipe formats make this hard. (You have to make a new branch for packaging).
I think adding support for nest-part would make this bug go away.
