Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

Use case:-

I want to filter out everyone else and focus on one users tweets/dents, so I click on them.

Some considerable (10+ seconds) time later I get to see it. In between I get to see some random tweets. See attached video.

BTW I'm on a fairly decent dual core machine with not much else going on, and using a near-idle 20Mb/s broadband connection.

I have an 6MB Internet Connection and took me around 5 seconds to load an user stream (sometimes more, actually it depends) so I am not sure if we can handle the main problem but probably we can improve it, maybe feature of bug 540484 could help to do this. by the way, have you checked if you are not facing connetivity issues with your ISP?

Given the people I am clicking on are already in my stream, gwibber already knows the most recent tweets for every person I click on, surely?

I did two more tests (attached) to show very little going on, on the network. In one I had the system monitor going and it certainly eats some CPU, but gwibber also shoots up when I click on someone. So it looks less like network and more processing to me.

I will mark this report as triaged for now, maybe a gwibber developer can give us some feedback of this issue.

I am no longer running that release of Ubuntu or indeed gwibber. It seems the functionality has changed such that clicking on a person no longer shows their stream but instead opens up their tweet in a browser.
