Bug Description

Since there're so many bugs unsolved I make it a wishlist.
No issues except about gnome-sound-recorder which doesn't record out of the box.
e.g. open youtube video and start to record: output none
Anything regarding sound works, e.g. VLC records streams and files.
Standard config wasn't change since installation.

Regarding userfriendly desktop experience I'd expect this standard app works out of the box.
If it doesn't it should tell the user which setting is wrong, which app or device is missing.

It isn't possible to unmute the mic(s) by default, because there may be horrendous feedback. You should check the capture level in Sound Preferences' Input tab.

See also the following mixer control settings:

  Capture exclusive group: 0

Thanks for the reply.
Capture for input in sound preferences was muted as default, as I said I didn't change anything.
However I unmuted and also marked Mic Boost in gnome-alsamixer. Still nothing, except a single clicking noise.
When I close and reopen sound preferences input is muted again by itself.
