Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-control-
After changing the keyboard layout from the default one (I selected a wrong while installing), the new when cannot be saved across a reboot.
I selected "us intl" in the installation, but changed it to "us altgr-intl" afterwards using dpkg-reconfigure -plow console-setup. Then, I changed it in GNOME and was able to use the new layout in this session. After a reboot, GNOME uses both layouts (the old one as default, the new one as fallback), while xorg uses only the new one.
I also discovered that the gconf key /desktop/
