Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

In my LAN there's a network hard drive holding my music. The drive is permanently mounted using /etc/fstab in a local directory. The mount is "assigned to my user?" (uid option set to 1000).

Everything runs fine but loading files in a totem playlist is very slow:
Nautilus > music folder > album foder > select all > right click > play in (totem)
requires about 1 minute to load in playlist less than 20 files (quickly loaded the first half, than slowly the remaining files).

Seems that also buffering is sub-optimal (some "clicks" similar to LP noise).

Package details (IT)
Riproduttore multimediale Totem 2.32.0
Il riproduttore multimediale utilizza GStreamer 0.10.30

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
