The "New" menu is cluttered

Hi,

I think the "New" menu is very cluttered, unordered and doesn't make any sense, I'm going to attach what I think to be a cleaner version, It is just a mockup.

This blueprint is currently being worked on in a separate branch and milestoned to 0.49.

Obsolete: the submenu 'File > New' was removed in 0.91. Templates are now managed via 'Templates...' dialog which offers a keyword-based search feature (for quick access), and a scrollable list of available static and procedural templates.

Proposing to close as 'Invalid' (or alternatively as 'Won't Fix') - launchpad's bug tracker unfortunately doesn't offer 'Obsolete' as bug status.

Enhancement requests for the new 'Templates' dialog should be filed separately.
