The video preview in the Clip Properties dialog does not use all the available space

Right-click a clip in the timeline, click Properties, notice the preview image does not use all the available space (has black border on top, bottom AND left side). See attached screenshot.

okay. try to update the MLT and the freiOr-plugins adding this PPA :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release && sudo update && sudo apt-get install mlt frei0r-plugins
It will be update this softwares and after you should de-active this one. It is the only way to have the last version of MLT (and the frei0r-plugins too) without doing a compilation.
