Kernel errors when starting Brasero with blank CD-R/DVD-R

Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

Steps to reproduce:

1. Insert a blank CD-R or DVD-R.
2. Start Applications -> Sound & Video -> Brasero Disc Burner.
3. Take a look at the syslog.
4. The following errors are produced, and the disc cannot be written to:

It looks like you previously had another disc in the drive and ejected it without unmounting it. Can you reproduce this after a clean reboot without first inserting a non blank disc?

I would never do such a thing! ;)

Yes, just to be sure, I rebooted, and tried this right away. Same results. This is the same issue I was having over at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/405544, except that it's the Maverick version. We were told over at comment #92 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/405544/comments/92) to open new bugs; here's mine.
