Bug Description
Hi there
I have a problem with my HP dv6 2050eo after upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04 and then to 10.10. The network manager doesn't show the available wireless networks in 10.04 and 10.10.
If I boot up in windows or on a live cd with 9.10 (and when I had the 9.10 working) the networks are visible and available.
I have this info from the 10.10 with the ethernet working.

the command: "dmesg | grep wl" gives a lot lines like this:
[87899.042541] wlan0: No active IBSS STAs - trying to scan for other IBSS networks with same SSID (merge)
Info: it's the 64 bit version of 10.10
Hope for some help out there.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:
* Is your laptops wireless switch switched on?
* Does your laptop have a keyboard shortcut for enabling/disabling wireless?
* If the answer for the above question is yes, does turning on your hardware wireless switch and toggling the wireless using the keyboard shortcut change anything?
This might help us to find and resolve the problem.
