Hibernate during upgrade to maverick which results into fail of grub

Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I choosed to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.10 and went away. After I came back my computer was off. I switched it on and got the grub rescue shell.
I had to use the Ubuntu 9.04 live cd (10.04 or 10.10 won't work, see bug #661235 for details) to "chroot" into my system, complete the upgrade and reinstall grub. After the next reboot Ubuntu tried to resume from hibernate, but failed and showed me the login screen.
