Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
1. System - Preferences - Appearance - Visual effects: all items are grayed and "None" is selected.
2. Transparent background in terminal works incorrect, I see desktop background instead of windows behind the terminal window.
3. Minimizing effects are slow and sometimes windows repaints are also slow.

Problem solved by reinstalling Ubuntu (now Desktop Edition instead of Netbook Edition)
