Bug Description
I translated S&D 0.9.0 strings in italian. After uninstall original S&D egg wich used EN strings,
I reinstalled applying my new IT .po but I noticed many english words still remains here and there.
I then modified my Italian translation and also noticed italian words I changed have not been updated.
I think something doesn't get cleanly purged when uninstalling/

So you have added an Italian translation in a local copy of S&D? That is of course not the recommended way, as you will have to do this again when a new version of S&D comes out. Any chance of committing this in the Plone collective subversion?
Did you restart your zope instance in between? Po files are only read on zope startup.
I can imagine that emails that have already been compiled and are waiting to be sent still have English translations, but that should not be the case as you deleted everything.
The rest of the Plone UI *is* in Italian?
Perhaps go to the zope root in the ZMI, go to the Control Panel, delete all contents of the PlacelessTransl ationService and Products, and restart the zope instance.
