Bug Description

Hi,

I had transcalc installed on Ubuntu 6.06 and it worked fine. I do not know which version this was, but it must have been the newest one available on Ubuntu 6.06

After the distribution upgrade to Ubuntu 6.10, transcalc crashes with the following message:

Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  serial 9811 error_code 8 request_code 2 minor_code 0
Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  serial 10558 error_code 8 request_code 62 minor_code 0

The GUI shows up for a tenth of a second, but then it vanishes. The version of transcalc that is installed now is 0.13

There is a new version of transcalc (0.14) as far as I could see on sourceforge. I don't know if this problem persists if transcalc is upgraded to that version.

I compiled transcalc 0.14 from sourceforge on Ubuntu 6.10

transcalc 0.14 runs without problems. Upgrading the package to transcalc 0.14 would thus fix this bug.

Confirming that 0.14 does fix the issue. It was released 3 years ago, but the Debian package was never updated.

This needs to be approved by the MOTU UVF team.

Although the code changes are not only bug fixes, they move away from gtk1 which is a good thing. Judging by the ChangeLog, this should have gotten in before. (2003-08-10)

For some reason, the Debian maintainer never updated the package. Who knows why.

It was left unconfirmed for a reason (the MOTU UVF team needed to approve a UVF exception). But since Edgy is now completely frozen, there's no chance of getting a UVF. Reassigning to me, I'll look at this for Feisty and -updates.

Ubuntu Edgy Eft is no longer supported, so a SRU will not be issued for this release. Marking Edgy as Won't Fix.
