Bug Description
When having a panel menu item opened (i.e. a window displayed) and an automatic notification pops up, i.e. from a running update manager that tells me downloading went wrong, the menu window stays open (empty), nothing is clickable so I guess common users could only restart. Killing gnome-panel on ctrl-alt-f1 helps though.

uh great, I can't change the title and I made a typo. It should read "open drop down menu + notification windows = everything blocked".
