Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

Gwibber has no accounts. I am setting up a twitter account. I clicked authorize.

What happens:

A little twitter web page opens in the gwibber application and asks for my username and password

What should happen:

I expect my webbrowser to open a new tab with the twitter "authorise this application" page. I have already signed into twitter on my web browser.

The point of OAuth is so applications don't have to save passwords, however i can't know if gwibber is saving my password.

Currently gwibber uses an embedded web browser to handle the authorization, it doesn't see any passwords. However, there are plans to remove the gwibber accounts dialog completely and use a more system wide solution, which should handle oauth much better. I marked this as won't fix, because the tool in question should be removed completely.
