The Epson Stylus TX420W requires a proprietary printer driver from the manufacturer which can not be included in Ubuntu.
Problems with the proprietary driver should be reported to the manufacturer and not to Ubuntu.
Converting to a support request in case anybody can help you.

Changed in cups (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

According to the error_log it is really a problem of the proprietary driver. The proprietary filter does not find one of its libraries.

Navegando encontré esta pagina la cual indica de un driver desarrollado para Linux el cual a mi me funciono (incluso con WI-Fi), solo realice lo siguiente:

http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-TX420W_Series

Instalacion del LSB:
sudo apt-get install lsb

Y luego descargue el DEB para ubuntu.

Buena Suerte.

You can fix this issue with this open linux driver: http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-TX420W_Series
In ubuntu only install LSB:
sudo apt-get install lsb
and download the .deb driver.

Good Lucky.

Thanks, that's the driver I'm using now.

Pascal De Vuyst was very kind pointing me in the right direction (as you can see in Question 131966, linked at the top of this page). It seems that I needed a symlink for the driver to work.
The printer has been working fine since.
