Upgrade Kubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 "Couldn't configure pere-depend x11-common for x11-xkb-utils"

Upgrade reported this as "Error during commit 'E:..." "..., probably a dependancy cycle.' Restoring original system state"

I did a system software update prior to upgrade!

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04

Tried a second upgrade - same result (btw, the error should say "... pre-depend ...").

Googled the error msg and tried Ilna's solution in "http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3113601.0;imode" - ooops, missed the "install xorg again" - oh well, it looks like the upgrade is installing OK now. Here's hoping 8-)
