indicator-applet-session not visible on startup

Bug Description

Indicator Applet Session occasionally is not visible on boot. I've seen this happen a few times on 2 computers with 10.04 and 10.10.

See the attached screenshot. left clicking where the applet should be does nothing. Right clicking shows the Gnome panel context menu.

I don't know how to trigger this bug or what information to provide. Let me know how I can help.
