Bug Description
To reproduce this issue, login with guest mode (in connect/disconnect widget).
All character are replaced with rectangles or with white zones on netbook gnome screen.
With another login name, this issue is not present.

I have reassigned this issue to xorg package for now. Have you tried to reproduce this issue using latest release of Ubuntu Maverick?
