Bug Description
Binary package hint: thunderbird
The welcome page/tab "Welcome to Thunderbird 3" is shown on the first start after every package update, e.g. from 3.1.1 to 3.1.2. I do not know whether this is the intention of the mozilla developers, but I consider it a bug since it provides nothing new and tends to get on the users' nerves.
Happens on TB 3.0/Lucid as well as TB 3.1/Karmic. Profiles are *not* migrated from TB2.
Will happily provide more info if needed.

Thanks for taking the time to report this. I use thunderbird multiple times a day. The event you are experiencing is in fact the way it is supposed to be operating. I agree that it is a little aggravating at times. I am going to see if we can mark this item as "wishlist" and hopefully get it the default behavior changed. Before we do that though please run the following command in a terminal to upload more info about your system.
