Bug Description

I had changed my system to auto login when I had 10.04. Recently I updated my system to 10.10 via update manager.
Since I was getting annoyed by the "keyring" pop up. I decided to disable the autologin.
But now after I boot my system, I get the login screen but when I click on the user id, it does not even give me the password field. So It is impossible for me to login to the system.
I think this is a bug on updated system. I had been updating my system since my clean install of 9.10.

Thanks,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

Hi Pedro,
This is no longer an issue. Turns out that it was due to some settings changes in "gdm" file.
I have posted the solution the forum.
