Bug Description
do-release-upgrade sandbox from lucid to maverick meerkat breaks every time on grub and several other packages.
At a certain moment the system starts up a dialog box stating that grub has failed, and asking whether it's ok to go on. If ok is selected the upgrade is aborted and a list of failed packages is given.

The sandboxed upgrades failed when booted in single user mode, as well as under multi-user mode.
Using either the command-line only mode, or the graphical usermode.
The bug was worse when instaling with gui, With metacity and grub installs both alternatively killing each other.
