Bug Description

When going to the "Add to panel" selection and adding Desktop Drapes to a panel, the panel no longer is responsive. The only way to restore operation to the panel is to kill all mono instances. This will then bring up a dialogue that says the desktop drapes applet does not work and asks me to keep or remove it.

After resolving problems related to drapes monitoring a large directory, adding the Desktop Drapes applet to the gnome-panel no longer freezes it, but it does not work still giving me a dialogue box saying that the applet does not work and asking me to delete it. The notification icon works like a charm, but the panel applet does not work which is a problem. If drapes is freezing on startup having this non working applet installed will cause the gnome-panel to freeze, also, so this should be looked into.

This is a bug in drapes and this is a bug in the C# bindings for the panel applet . For the 0.5.0 release I'll try to fix as many of these applet issues as I can. However, the perfected and recommended way of using drapes is via the tray applet.

confirmed, I start drapes via the command line and it freezes here:

Filesystem monitor on: / enabled (freeze here)

Also when using the applet from the panel and going to the General Tab and clicking on the radio button
"Monitor this directory for new wallpapers"
the directory pull down is greyed out and the whole program freezes and it is then impossible to start the program again.

Removing the program from the Software Center does not remove all of the files necessary to get the program running again.

only after deleting the gconf entries for Desktop Drapes does it respond again.
