Yes it is a duplicate from 631428.

Don't understand why sudo apt-get remove telepathy-butterfly should change anything?

Have tried sudo apt-get remove telepathy-butterfly and then sudo apt-get install telepathy-butterfly.

The Ubuntu repositories still hold Version: 0.5.14-1, so if you remove the package and reinstall you get
the same version number...with the same problem..

..and yes tested that in case of some strange reason it should work, and it didn't. Problem still exists.
