Bug Description

Upon starting, the computer (a Dell desktop which has been through several upgrades) stops booting, two lines after loading the crash kernel. The screen goes dark and then the monitor into power save mode. The only way to complete the boot is by doing it through the recovery version of thekernel (2.6.35.22), using the low graphics mode. There appears to be no way to get X and NVidia on the same page.

The bug, if it is that, is that the new nvidia drivers are not compatible with the X server.
