Sorry, the screenshot you mention doesn't appear in the linked page. You can attach files to this bug report using launchpad directly.
Still, this is an old bug in an unsupported ubuntu version. Is this still happening in a supported one? Thanks

Unfortunately, I've never been able to reproduce the bug. Also please note the mame-common package was superseded by mame/mess/mess-data series long ago.

Could we please consider this closed?

You can close this bug, it's too old and now I don't use this version.
