Is this symptom reproducible with linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic installed? If it is, please also include the output from `pactl stat'.

Hi Daniel,

After installing linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic and updating lucid to the latest state sound still doesn't work.

And if you remove ~/.pulse* and then `killall pulseaudio"?

root@ticnova:/home/usuario# rm -rf .pulse
root@ticnova:/home/usuario# killall pulseaudio

same result after doing this, no sound. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that as root. Is your normal
account the root one?

also using force as root is a REALLY dumb idea, if you screw up the command and unleash some unholy command you can EASILY ruin your OS without any effort at all, using rm -rf as a standard command is one of the worst habits a user can form. The data is in $HOME and only used when pulseaudio starts, so force is NOT needed.

Finally we have bought a motherboard model fully supported in 10.04. I can not keep doing tests on this hardware because we returned the Gigabyte G41MT-D3 to the supplier.
