Bug Description

Had Firefox installed previous to upgrade from 9.10 (laptop) and viewed video of multiple formats regularly on-line. Upgraded to 10.10 (Desktop) and now cannot view video in browser. Have un-installed and re-installed the flash video plugin within Firefox. Have tried creating new profile in Firefox (V. 3.6.11), have installed Chrome as an alternative browser (never used it before) in hopes it would work - no success. Have un-installed and re-installed Firefox - no success. Am becoming desperate. Am considering re-commissioning old Microsoft PC. AM BECOMING DESPERATE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are example sites that failed:

http://www.jokeroo.com/videos/animal/lion-scares-kid.html

http://vimeo.com/6844232

http://www.wimp.com/superconductingtrain/
(The final one is the most colorful. The first site simply shows a black rectangle. The second, a blank white space. In the third site I get a black rectangle with two smaller red squares and some interesting symbols within it, as well as a spinning dial as if buffering. This will continue to run ad nauseum.

Would appreciate any insights, guidance and so forth. Willing to install some other application if it will get me over this hurdle.

Best Regards,
Gary Beach

I tried the:

sudo rm -r ~/.adobe
sudo apt-get clean

and then reinstalled with no success. So, I completely wiped the 10.4 Ubuntu partition from the laptop and installed 10.10 as a net new rather than upgrade. This eliminated the issue. Of course, the net new install was inconvenient, but it worked.
