Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp

A trailing witespace in the Gateway field leads to an instant 'Start of VPN Service failed' error that is resolved when removing the trailing whitespace.
syslog says
Oct 21 13:55:14 rechenknecht2k7 NetworkManager[1010]: <warn> VPN connection 'MI VPN' failed to connect: 'invalid gateway 'gateway''.
This is however a very unexpected behaviour, unexpected by most users - just trim the string before using it should fix it.

This also occurs if the Gateway field has a leading "http://" or trailing "/". This threw me off for quite a while until I found this bug.
