Binary package hint: adonthell-data

When I play Waste's Edge in Edgy there's a black square behind each letter. I couldn't run this game on Dapper recently because of a segmentation fault, but when it worked there weren't those black squares.

I can confirm this for the title screen of wastesedge with adonthell 0.3.4.cvs.20050813-2.4.

Also seeing this in Xubuntu 6.10, using version of adonthell-data as downloaded with Synaptic on Jan 14, 2007.

These black blocks may be purposeful, not a bug, in order to display the while letters on the multi-color screen. Can anyone say that it works differently in other circumstances? Best to check with the authors of the program.

Bug is correct. Here is a screenshot of of how the font should appear, with a drop shadow.
